Meridian DSP3200 Compact Active Loudspeaker

The DSP3200 is Meridian's compact active loudspeaker — a two-driver, two-amplifier unit in a cabinet that suits bookshelves, wall brackets, and dedicated floor stands (included). Its modest dimensions make it the right choice for smaller rooms and secondary spaces, while its full Meridian DSP processing suite means nothing is compromised in the signal path. A digital crossover implemented well outside the speech band ensures vocal clarity and midrange transparency without the phase anomalies that passive crossover components introduce.

Visual design is derived from the DSP8000 XE flagship, scaled to compact proportions. The natural pairing for cinema use is the DSP3300 centre channel. Three DSP3300s as left, centre, and right also forms a compact, matched front soundstage. See the full Meridian range we stock.

Drive Units and Amplification

Two drive units: a 165mm polypropylene long-throw bass driver and an 85mm aluminium cone wide-range driver. Two Class-AB amplifiers, each 75 watts, 150 watts total. Each driver is matched to its own dedicated amplifier with no passive crossover components in the signal path.

Peak SPL is 114dB at 1m. Frequency response runs from 45Hz to over 20kHz in room. Distortion is typically below 0.02%.

DSP Technologies

The DSP3200 implements nine Meridian signal processing technologies:

Full Frequency Alignment corrects group delay so all frequencies arrive at the listener simultaneously — the timing coherence characteristic of all Meridian active loudspeakers.

Bespoke Signal Mapping applies crossover filters designed specifically for this two-driver configuration in this cabinet.

E3 Bass (Expand, Extend, Enhance) extracts maximum low-frequency performance from the 165mm bass driver — reaching 45Hz from a compact cabinet.

Loudness compensation maintains perceived tonal balance at low listening levels, correcting for the reduction in human hearing sensitivity to bass and treble at reduced volume.

Dynamic bass protection preserves transient accuracy and the sharpness of leading edges at high output levels, maintaining clarity under sustained demand.

Q-Sync, True Time, True Link, Pro-Active Bass, Pro-Active Thermal, and Free-Q provide jitter minimisation, filter optimisation, secure digital transfer, driver protection, and placement-adaptive room correction respectively.

Connectivity

SpeakerLink (RJ45) input and output for integration within a Meridian system. Compatible with the Meridian 218 Zone Controller for multi-room applications. Flexible placement on stands (included), wall brackets, or furniture.

Who Is It For?

The DSP3200 suits smaller rooms and secondary spaces where a compact footprint is required but the full Meridian DSP performance is non-negotiable. It is well suited to multi-room systems via the 218 Zone Controller, and as the main speaker in a compact cinema system completed by the DSP3300 centre channel. Those needing more output or a larger room should consider the DSP5200SE.
