Kaleidescape

There is a reason serious home cinema installations use Kaleidescape rather than a streaming service. Every major platform — Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon — compresses video and audio to make delivery practical at scale. Kaleidescape does not. Films are stored and played back as bit-for-bit copies of the studio master: full lossless audio, full resolution 4K HDR video, no compression artefacts, no buffering, and no dependency on an internet connection. When the lights go down, everything plays.

How Kaleidescape Works

The system works across two components. Movie servers store your library locally — the Kaleidescape Compact Terra Movie Server is the starting point, while the Terra Prime Solid-State scales up to 31TB for larger collections. Movie players connect to your screen and sound system, drawing the film from the server and outputting lossless Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and full HDR. The Kaleidescape Strato C Movie Player handles 4K HDR with all major lossless audio formats. For installations demanding the highest sustained bit rates and the most exacting mastering formats, the Kaleidescape Strato V Movie Player is the answer.

Your Library, Permanently

Films are purchased through the Kaleidescape Movie Store, which carries thousands of titles — many mastered at higher quality than the equivalent Blu-ray release. Once bought, they are yours permanently, unaffected by licensing changes or a streaming service deciding to remove a title.
