Kaleidescape Strato C Movie Player
The Strato C is a 4K Ultra HD movie player from Kaleidescape, with HDR10 and lossless multichannel audio. It has no storage of its own: it plays films from a Kaleidescape Terra movie server, or from a Strato player with internal storage, over your home network. That makes it the player for adding further screens to an existing Kaleidescape system.
It plays only films from the Kaleidescape movie store, which are downloaded to local storage before you watch them rather than streamed. Kaleidescape's 4K films average 65 megabits per second against the 8 or so that the leading streaming services use for 4K.

The Strato C plays 4K in standard dynamic range and HDR10 over HDMI 2.0a with HDCP 2.2. It does not support Dolby Vision; for that, look at the Strato V or Strato K. It switches between 1.78:1 and 2.35:1 automatically, so a control system can set the screen masking for each film.
A separate HDMI audio output
What sets the Strato C apart is a second, audio-only HDMI 1.4 output alongside the main video output. It is useful where the display and the AV processor need to be fed separately. Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio are carried losslessly over HDMI, and coaxial and optical outputs carry two-channel PCM up to 96kHz/24-bit.
In a system
A Kaleidescape system can have any number of Strato players and up to four Terra Prime movie servers, so a Strato C can be added in each room that needs one. Its control protocol is supported by Josh.ai, Crestron, AMX, Control4 and Savant, and it can also be controlled by Lutron RA3 and HomeWorks over Ethernet, or by IR.

Who Is It For?
The Strato C is for an existing or planned Kaleidescape system that needs another player, particularly where a separate HDMI audio feed solves a problem between the display and the processor.
