4K Cinematic™ — A Dramatic Leap Beyond Standard 4K
Strato K introduces Kaleidescape's exclusive 4K Cinematic™ video format, harnessing the player's 8K processing power to deliver full chroma — up to 4:4:4 — alongside dramatically higher bitrates than standard 4K files. The result is greater detail and fewer compression artefacts than anything achievable through streaming or physical disc.
Native 8K Playback
The Strato K is 8K Association certified, supporting native 8K video output with both SDR and HDR10. Where 4K Cinematic™ raises the bar for picture quality within the established 4K resolution, native 8K goes further still — delivering a level of clarity and spatial realism that has no precedent in domestic cinema.
Lossless Spatial Audio
Audio is handled with the same uncompromising philosophy. The Strato K supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, and DTS-HD Master Audio — all in lossless form, available as either bitstream pass-through or lossless decoding. The result is a multichannel soundfield that is precisely what the filmmakers mixed, without degradation at any stage of the signal path.
Standalone and Scalable
The Strato K houses a 960GB internal SSD, offering storage for approximately seven 4K Cinematic movies or ten standard 4K titles depending on file size. It operates entirely independently, or connects via local network to a Kaleidescape Terra movie server for whole-home distribution — grouping any number of Strato K players across a single system, with up to four Terra servers per installation.
