The Strato E sits at the entry point of the Kaleidescape player range — compact, precisely engineered, and capable of everything that makes Kaleidescape the reference standard for home cinema playback. Where disc-based systems impose compromises in bitrate and convenience, the Strato E plays purchased Kaleidescape movies at bitrates up to 100 Mbps, with full 4K Dolby Vision and HDR10 support, and lossless audio passed through without alteration. This is the machine that makes a truly serious home cinema system accessible without sacrificing the performance that defines the platform.
Standalone or Grouped — Two Ways to Use It
The Strato E operates in two distinct modes. In Standalone Mode, its internal 480GB SSD holds approximately six high-bitrate Kaleidescape movies at any one time — downloaded from the Kaleidescape store, played back whenever you choose, and automatically offloaded 48 hours after viewing to free space for the next purchase. There is no disc to find, no menu to navigate past, no quality ceiling imposed by optical media.
In Grouped Mode, the Strato E connects via Gigabit Ethernet to a Kaleidescape Terra or Terra Prime movie server — expanding your library to the full capacity of that server and bringing the complete Kaleidescape system experience to bear. If you are building toward a larger collection, the path from Strato E to a partnered server such as the Kaleidescape Terra Prime Movie Server or the Kaleidescape Mini Terra Prime Server 8TB is entirely straightforward.
Picture and Sound
Video output is via HDMI 2.1 with HDCP 2.3 copy protection, supporting resolutions up to 2160p60. Dolby Vision — both standard and low-latency — and HDR10 are fully supported. The CinemaScape feature allows the output aspect ratio to be set between 1.78:1 and 2.35:1, automatically or via the user interface, making the Strato E a natural partner for anamorphic projection setups.
Control integration is comprehensive: HDMI CEC, front-panel IR, and full Ethernet-based control protocol support for Josh.ai, Crestron, AMX, Control4, Savant, Lutron RA3, and HomeWorks, as well as the Kaleidescape apps.

The Strato E is for the home cinema enthusiast who wants uncompromised Kaleidescape playback quality in the most compact form the platform offers. It suits rooms where a full server is not yet in place but the ambition is there — or where a standalone player of this calibre is genuinely all that is needed.
