There's a certain pragmatism to how most loudspeaker ranges work. Engineers develop technology at the top of the range, costs are recovered, and elements gradually filter downward over subsequent generations. Fyne Audio have taken a more direct approach with their UK-built Special Production series — drawing F700 Series engineering into three distinctly different loudspeakers and making all three available in any RAL Classic colour finish you care to specify.
The result is a family of speakers that rewards closer inspection at every price point.
The F500SP — £2,539.99 per pair
The smallest of the three, the F500SP is a stand-mount built on the award-winning F500 but upgraded throughout. The SP IsoFlare driver uses a twin-magnet motor system and FyneFlute roll surround to reduce cone resonances, whilst Fyne's BassTrax Tractrix diffuser handles low frequencies with enough composure to make room placement rather less fraught than you might expect from a speaker at this size. A fifth terminal on the bi-wire connection panel grounds the driver chassis against RF interference — a detail that speaks to the level of consideration throughout.
The F510SP — £4,939.99 per pair
Step up to the F510SP and the IsoFlare driver grows to 150mm, now paired with a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter and an upgraded crossover derived directly from the F700 Series. The aluminium sandwich plinth improves stability and refines the BassTrax downward-firing port, whilst diamond machine cut detailing and an anodised machined aluminium plinth reflect the SP series' enhanced cosmetic ambitions. For those seeking a floorstander that earns its place both sonically and visually, this is a compelling proposition.
The F502SP — £6,889.99 per pair
At the top of the SP range, the F502SP deploys the same 200mm IsoFlare driver and 200mm bass and mid driver found in the F702 — Fyne's flagship floorstander. The HF wave guide pole piece within the IsoFlare's 25mm magnesium compression tweeter delivers consistent frequency response across the room rather than a narrow sweet spot, and the F700 Series crossover components are carried over in full. The BassTrax system is re-engineered here to suit the F502SP's more compact cabinet, rather than simply transplanted.
The RAL Classic Option
All three models are available exclusively to the UK market and can be specified in a bespoke RAL Classic colour finish through selected dealers. For those integrating serious loudspeakers into a considered interior, this matters. Martins Hi-Fi can guide you through the selection process — from acoustic performance and system matching to final colour specification.
