Close up of PMC Speaker - Martins Hi-Fi

A PMC Demonstration Day in Norwich, Thursday 1 October

PMC & Bryston at Martins Hi-Fi

Craig from PMC is coming to Ber Street on Thursday 1 October with two systems, and staying all day. Three sessions — 11am, 1pm and 3pm — each an hour to ninety minutes. The room only holds so many, which is why there are three of them, so it is worth telling us which one suits you.

Here is what will be playing.

The speakers

The fact.12 signature is the slim one — a tall, narrow cabinet you could walk past without noticing, with a folded transmission line hidden inside it. This is the PMC you buy when the speaker has to live in a room that other people use too.

The IB2 SE is a studio monitor, squat and unapologetic, drawn for a control room rather than a sitting room. It wants space, and given space it does something the slim one cannot.

Hearing them an hour apart, in the same room, on the same afternoon, is the reason to come.

Bryston, for the first time here

The amplifiers are Bryston, and this is the first time they have been heard at Martins. A Bi-200 integrated drives the fact.12 signature. The IB2 SE gets the full separates: a BP-19 preamplifier and a pair of 7B monoblocks, which is a good deal more amplifier than PMC's own recommendation calls for.

There is a reason PMC turned up with them. PMC import Bryston into Britain themselves and have done for years, so both systems were assembled by people who build one half and bring in the other. Craig will be there all day if you want to put that to him.

Chord Company cable throughout.

Save yourself a slot

11am, 1pm or 3pm on Thursday 1 October, at 85-91 Ber Street. Call 01603 627010 or send us a message and we will write your name down.

If the date is no good, both speakers are on the site, along with the rest of the PMC range. Neither of them makes much sense on a screen, though
