The fact.12 Signature is the three-way flagship of PMC's fact Signature range — a loudspeaker that takes the most accomplished design in a long-respected family and elevates it further still, drawing on key components from the company's reference fact fenestria to set a new benchmark for what a floorstanding loudspeaker can do in a domestic listening room.

ATL™ — Advanced Transmission Line

PMC's ATL™ technology is the engineering foundation beneath everything the fact.12 Signature achieves. Rather than a conventional ported or sealed enclosure, the bass energy generated by the drive units travels through a heavily braced, acoustically lined internal pathway 3.3 metres in length — absorbing unwanted mid-frequency energy and releasing only the lowest frequencies through a front-panel vent. The result is bass that extends to 26Hz with the authority and control that sealed or reflex designs of comparable dimensions cannot approach, and without the group delay and overhang that make a ported cabinet sound like a cabinet at all.

Drive Units and Signature Crossover

Three-way architecture separates the workload cleanly. Two 140mm super-long-throw bass drivers handle the low frequencies, freeing a hand-built 50mm soft-dome mid-range unit — ferro-fluid cooled and produced to a standard that reflects its proximity to studio monitor practice — to focus entirely on the range where voices, strings, brass and piano live. A 19mm SONOMEX soft-dome tweeter, also ferro-fluid cooled, extends the top end to 30kHz with the composure that PMC's proprietary dome material was specifically developed to provide.

The Signature crossover is where this model departs most decisively from the standard fact.12. Built on a military-grade circuit board populated with the same hand-selected British-made capacitors and German non-inductive resistors used in the fact fenestria, it is tuned to resolve micro-details and midrange tangibility that the standard crossover leaves partially obscured. Component positioning is calculated to eliminate parasitic inductance and minimise interference — the kind of refinement that does not appear in a specification table but makes itself known the moment you sit down and listen seriously.
