Collection: PMC Speakers

PMC was founded in 1991 by Pete Thomas and Adrian Lodge, both of whom came from professional studio monitoring backgrounds. That origin defines everything PMC make: loudspeakers designed first to serve the demands of recording studios — where accuracy is not a preference but a professional requirement — and then refined for domestic listening at every price point in the range.

The technology at the heart of every PMC loudspeaker is the Advanced Transmission Line — ATL. Where a conventional reflex enclosure uses a short ported tube to extend bass output, PMC's transmission line is a long, precision-folded internal pathway that loads the bass driver correctly at low frequencies, absorbs unwanted resonances, and produces bass that is extended, controlled and tonally accurate in a way that ported designs rarely achieve. It is the reason PMC loudspeakers sound the way they do — unhurried at the bottom end, clean through the midrange, and coherent from top to bottom.

The range at Martins Hi-Fi spans the full width of what PMC offer. The Prodigy Series — Prodigy1 standmount and Prodigy5 floorstander — are the entry point: compact, affordable, and built on the same transmission line principles as the rest of the range. The twenty5i Series scales those principles upward through five models, from the twenty5.21i standmount to the twenty5.26i floorstander, with active versions of the 21i through 24i available for those who want PMC's own amplification integrated directly into the loudspeaker. The Prophecy Series represents the full expression of PMC's engineering — a range of floorstanders and a centre channel built without the constraints of a volume or cost target.

We stock the full PMC range at our Norwich showroom, including active and passive models across the twenty5i and Prophecy Series. Dave and Chris know these loudspeakers in depth and can match them to your amplification, your room, and your listening priorities. Come in and hear what a transmission line loudspeaker does that other designs do not.
