This seventh generation of our bestselling amplifier has been comprehensively re-engineered, with our team of engineers completely re-laying the Brio circuit to optimize performance and significantly reduce distortion.

Engineering Excellence

Meticulously handcrafted with premium components and housed in a compact, custom half-width aluminium case, the Brio MK7 delivers a commanding 50W per channel into 8Ω (73W into 6Ω), providing ample power to drive even the most demanding loudspeakers with effortless authority. Throughout the design process, the Brio MK7 has been meticulously improved in every aspect - from the quality of materials to the manufacturing process - making it the most advanced Brio to date.

Re-laid Circuit Design

Key improvements have been made across the entire circuit with a fully upgraded PCB layout to handle higher specifications for all critical parts. A second raw power supply has been implemented to provide superior isolation between the output stage and the driver stage/line and phono amplifiers. This significantly improves isolation between high and low-level signal stages, resulting in cleaner, more precise sound reproduction. Higher specification MUSES operational amplifiers have been integrated into the line, DAC and phono stages for exceptional performance.

Expanded Connectivity

For the first time, the Brio now features an integrated Rega-designed DAC with dual digital inputs, dramatically expanding your connectivity options. The DAC supports sampling rates from 32kHz up to 192kHz via both optical and coaxial connections. Connections extend to three line inputs and, of course, phono with a dedicated moving magnet stage for spinning your latest vinyl. The latter benefits from improved isolation between stages inside the amp and high spec op-amps providing gain for attached cartridges.

Enhanced User Experience

The Brio MK7 introduces several practical refinements, including standby functionality, auto standby for energy efficiency, and thermal cut-out protection. A new mini system remote (compatible with future products) is supplied to operate the standby function, allowing the unit to be powered on and off via the remote handset.

Intelligent Headphone Implementation

The onboard headphone circuit has been intelligently designed to minimize its impact on the main signal path, ensuring no compromise to overall sound quality. Special attention has been paid to the switching mechanism that deactivates the main speakers when headphones are connected to the front panel socket.

Thoughtful Protection Systems

The Brio MK7 incorporates sophisticated protection features:

• Auto Standby: After approximately 1 hour of no signal on the selected input, the unit automatically enters standby mode (can be disabled if preferred)
• Thermal Protection: If the amplifier reaches potentially damaging temperatures, the system first disables speaker output (indicated by the MUTE LED illuminating) before automatically powering down if the condition persists
• Short Circuit Protection: Fold-back protection shields the output stage from excessive currents without affecting sound quality, as this circuit sits outside the audio signal path
