Personalise Your Sondek LP12
The Sondek LP12 is one of the most celebrated turntables ever made — a design that has been in continuous production since 1972, improved across five decades without ever abandoning the mechanical principles that define its character. For most of that time, the choice of finish has been limited to a small and carefully curated range of wood veneers. That changes with Linn's personalisation programme, which opens the LP12's appearance to any high gloss colour the owner chooses — and adds the option of a permanent laser-etched monogram on the armboard. The result is an LP12 that is not merely one of the finest turntables in the world. It is one of a kind.
Any Colour
Every current LP12 can be ordered in any high gloss colour finish. The colour reference can come from anywhere — a specific paint code, an album cover, an interior design palette, a personal association that no standard finish option could replicate. Linn produces each custom finish by hand, to the same standard of surface quality and craftsmanship that defines the LP12 as an object as well as an instrument.
For those whose preference runs to the more understated, Linn's full range of standard wood finishes is now available in high gloss as well as the traditional satin finish — alongside Piano Black and High Gloss White as permanent additions to the core range. The high gloss wood options in particular are worth seeing in person: they transform familiar finishes into something considerably more striking.
If your system includes Linn loudspeakers, they can be specified in a matching high gloss colour — producing a visually unified system whose coherence across components is impossible to achieve through any other route.
Monogramming
The armboard — the component that carries the tonearm and sits at the front left of the LP12's plinth — can be laser-etched with up to four letters of your choice. The etching is applied with precision, directly into the surface of the component. It is not a badge or a label. It will not peel, fade, or be removed by any subsequent service or upgrade. On a turntable that is regularly serviced, incrementally upgraded, and in many cases passed between generations of owners, a monogram is a mark of ownership that is as permanent as the deck itself.
Planning a Personalised LP12
Colour selection for a custom LP12 is a decision that warrants care — a custom finish cannot be changed after production. We manage the full personalisation order process at Martins Hi-Fi, from initial colour reference through to Linn's confirmation of the specification before production begins. If you are combining personalisation with upgrade work — a Linn Karousel Bearing Kit installation, a new tonearm such as the Linn Krane Tonearm or Linn Arko Tonearm, or a Linn Bedrok Plinth replacement — we will sequence the work correctly and ensure the finished deck is set up to the current Linn standard before it leaves us.
For those building a new LP12 from the outset, the Linn LP12 Majik Turntable, Linn LP12 Selekt Turntable, and Linn Klimax LP12 are all available with personalisation options applied at the point of order.
