Naim Audio Uniti Nova All-in-One Streaming Amplifier

The Uniti Nova is the top model in Naim's Uniti range of all-in-one streaming amplifiers — a product that combines a complete streaming platform, preamplifier, and 80W Class-AB power amplifier in a single enclosure. It connects directly to a pair of passive loudspeakers and streams from Roon, TIDAL, Qobuz, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Chromecast, and virtually anything else you might want to play. It handles analogue and digital sources as well. Everything is controlled via the Focal and Naim app or the 5-inch colour display on the front panel.

The Nova is not a budget compromise. It uses the same careful approach to analogue circuit design, power supply, and output stage that characterises Naim's separates. The power amplifier is Class-AB, linear operation — not a switching amplifier. The headphone output is usable. The phono stage, if you have a turntable, is also genuinely competent. This is a product that can be the only hi-fi component you ever need.

Streaming Platform

The Nova streams via AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Chromecast, TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready, UPnP, and internet radio. Network is via Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac or wired Ethernet. Audio format support includes WAV at 32bit/384kHz, FLAC and AIFF at 24bit/384kHz, ALAC at 24bit/384kHz, MP3, AAC, OGG, WMA, DSD 64 and 128Fs, and M4A. Local storage via USB handles up to 1TB SSD or 128GB USB sticks, with a maximum of 20,000 tracks indexed. The Focal and Naim app controls everything from a phone or tablet.

Analogue and Digital Inputs

Analogue inputs are two 5-pin DIN sockets and two stereo RCA pairs. Digital inputs are two optical TOSLink (24bit/96kHz), one coaxial RCA (24bit/192kHz, DoP 64Fs), and one coaxial BNC (24bit/192kHz, DoP 64Fs). USB Type-A accepts audio from attached drives. The analogue input stage accommodates any line-level source — CD players, phono stages, tuners — alongside the streaming platform.

Outputs

Speaker outputs are driven by the internal Class-AB power amplifier — 80W per channel into 8Ω. A 4-pin DIN output and an RCA pair provide pre-amplifier outputs for connecting a power amplifier if required. A 3.5mm headphone jack is on the front panel.

Who Is It For?

The Uniti Nova is for the listener who wants a single, capable, and honest hi-fi system — one that streams everything, plays analogue sources, sounds properly good, and does not require a rack of separate components. It suits smaller rooms and systems where space matters, and also sits comfortably in a living room where a full separates system would be unwelcome. With the right loudspeakers, it is a complete hi-fi system.

If 80W is not enough for your loudspeakers — or if you want to upgrade later — the Nova's pre-amplifier outputs allow you to add a power amplifier without replacing the whole unit. It is a product that can be the end point for many listeners and a stepping stone for others.
