What's Fitted

This Selekt LP12 is equipped with the following components:

• Kendo cartridge — moving coil design with aluminium-bronze inserts, boron cantilever, and super-fine line diamond stylus tip
• Arko tonearm — gimballed arm machined from 7075-grade aluminium to exceptionally high tolerances
• Lingo power supply — hybrid internal/external design for stable, low-noise motor control
• Kore sub-chassis — aluminium sub-chassis bonded to a machined-from-solid armboard
• Karousel bearing — Linn's patented high-precision, machined single-point bearing
• Trampolin base — suspended feet on an aluminium baseboard for additional isolation from vibration

The LP12 Platform

The Sondek LP12 has been in continuous production since 1973 and remains the reference point against which other turntables are measured. Its suspended sub-chassis design isolates the playing surface from external vibration, and Linn's ongoing engineering programme means every component in the range — bearing, tonearm, power supply, sub-chassis — can be upgraded independently over time. The turntable you buy today can become something considerably more capable in five or ten years, without replacing the plinth or starting again.

The Selekt specification represents a carefully considered balance of components. The Karousel bearing alone is a transformative upgrade to the LP12 platform — Linn describe it as the most significant improvement to the deck in decades. Paired with the Arko arm and Kendo cartridge, this is a turntable capable of retrieving low-level detail and musical timing that will challenge much more expensive alternatives.
