Innuos ZENith Next-Gen

The ZENith Next-Gen sits at the top of Innuos's Next-Gen server range, and it earns that position through a combination of power supply engineering, processor specification and software discipline that is difficult to match at any comparable level of the market.

PreciseAudio Mainboard and AudioCore

The PreciseAudio mainboard is Innuos's custom-designed platform, built specifically to minimise electromagnetic interference within the server itself. On the ZENith Next-Gen, this is paired with a Core i7 Embedded processor featuring eight performance cores. The significance of that core count is not raw speed — it is separation. Innuos's AudioCore technology assigns audio processing tasks to dedicated cores, isolating them from the housekeeping work the operating system is doing at the same time. More cores mean finer separation, which means less contamination of the audio signal by computational noise.

pSLC Industrial-Grade OS SSD

One detail that distinguishes the ZENith Next-Gen from the ZEN Next-Gen is the use of a pSLC — pseudo Single-Level Cell — industrial-grade SSD for the operating system. Unlike standard SSDs, pSLC drives use simplified controllers that generate considerably less electromagnetic interference during operation. This SSD is powered independently and mounted directly on the PreciseAudio board, which matters because the OS drive is under constant load. Reducing its EMI output has a direct, measurable effect on the noise floor of the system as a whole.

NGaN Regulator

The NGaN (Gallium Nitride) regulator technology further refines the power delivery to the most sensitive components. Gallium Nitride regulators switch faster and with lower loss than conventional silicon-based designs, which keeps the power supply cleaner and more responsive across a wider operating range.

What This Means in Practice

The cumulative effect of these design decisions — low-impedance power, core-isolated audio processing, low-EMI storage, and GaN regulation — is a digital signal fed to your DAC that is as clean and well-timed as Innuos know how to make it. A DAC is only ever as good as what it receives. Feed it a noisy or poorly timed signal and that noise is amplified through every subsequent stage in the chain. The ZENith Next-Gen is designed on the premise that eliminating noise at source is not an optional refinement — it is the whole point of a dedicated digital server.

The ZENith Next-Gen is for serious listeners who have invested significantly in their DAC and downstream components and want to ensure the source is not the limiting factor. If your system is already capable of resolving low-level detail — the breath before a vocal phrase, the decay of a piano note in a live space, the texture of a plucked string — then the ZENith Next-Gen is the server that will let you hear it. It is not an entry point into streaming; it is the component you choose when you've stopped compromising.
