Fyne Audio F501E Floorstanding Speaker
The F501E is the most affordable full-size floorstander in the Fyne Audio range — the entry point into IsoFlare technology in a 2.5-way floorstanding enclosure. It shares the fundamental driver architecture of the SP Series models: a 150mm IsoFlare point-source driver handling the midrange, a dedicated 150mm bass driver below it, and a downfiring BassTrax Tractrix port for bass loading. Sensitivity is 90dB and low-frequency extension reaches 36Hz. At £999.98 per pair in Black Ash vinyl, it is priced honestly as a starting point — not as a premium product — but the IsoFlare driver at its core is the same technology that defines the more expensive models in the range.
IsoFlare Driver Technology
The IsoFlare driver is the central engineering decision in every Fyne Audio loudspeaker. It places the bass/midrange cone and the high-frequency compression tweeter on a shared axis — the tweeter fires from the centre of the cone — so both drivers radiate sound from a single point in space. This point-source behaviour keeps the time relationship between frequencies consistent across the listening area, and off-axis performance is substantially better than a conventional arrangement where the tweeter sits physically above the bass/midrange unit.
In the F501E, the IsoFlare driver is a 150mm multi-fibre cone unit with a 25mm titanium dome compression driver — titanium rather than the magnesium dome used in the SP models. Below the IsoFlare unit sits a second 150mm multi-fibre bass driver, which crosses over at 250Hz, allowing the IsoFlare unit to operate over a more focused frequency band.
BassTrax and Port System
The F501E uses a downfiring port with a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser built into the base. The Tractrix profile maintains a consistent expansion angle as bass energy leaves the port, reducing reflections and smoothing the transition between port output and room. The practical result is a speaker that is less sensitive to floor-boundary effects than a conventional rear-ported design — useful in a living room where the speaker cannot always be positioned ideally.
Crossover
The crossover divides at 250Hz and 1.7kHz. The filter topology is 2nd order low-pass and 1st order high-pass.
How It Differs from the SP Series
The F501E and the F501SP share the same IsoFlare concept and the same cabinet format, but there are real differences. The SP uses a magnesium dome compression tweeter; the F501E uses titanium. The SP models are available in Piano Gloss and Natural Walnut finishes; the F501E comes only in Black Ash vinyl. The SP is hand-built to a higher specification throughout, and the price reflects that. The F501E is the right product for a buyer who wants IsoFlare in a full-size floorstander at a realistic price — not for a buyer who wants the SP experience at E Series money.
Cinema Use
The F501E pairs naturally with the Fyne Audio F502E LCR centre channel speaker, which uses a larger 200mm IsoFlare driver and shares the same Black Ash vinyl finish. Running matched IsoFlare drivers across the front three channels gives consistent timbre from left to centre to right.

Who Is It For?
The F501E suits a buyer who wants to understand what IsoFlare technology does in a full-size floorstander without committing to the SP price point. The 90dB sensitivity and 8Ω impedance are easy for most amplifiers — 30 watts is a realistic minimum. The BassTrax port system keeps placement relatively forgiving for a speaker of this size.
It also works well as the front speaker in a budget-conscious home cinema system, particularly paired with the F502E LCR for the centre channel. The Black Ash vinyl finish is unobtrusive; it will not dominate a room the way a high-gloss cabinet can. Those ready to step up the range should consider the F701SP standmount or the F5S for a more capable entry into the Fyne Audio range. The Fyne Audio Vintage Five is also worth considering for buyers drawn to a more characterful heritage aesthetic at a similar price.
