Fyne Audio F500S LCR Loudspeaker

The F500S LCR is a wall-mountable loudspeaker from Fyne Audio's S Series — designed to function as a left, centre, or right channel speaker in a home cinema system built around the F500S, F501S, or F502S. It uses a 150mm IsoFlare point-source driver with a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter — the same IsoFlare driver format as the F500S standmount — in a compact horizontal enclosure with an Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) for bass loading. Available in Black Oak, Natural Walnut, and Piano Gloss Black, it is the matched centre channel for the S Series front speakers and sold as a single unit.

The LCR designation means it is engineered to work in all three front channel positions — not only the centre. Running three F500S LCR units across the front of a cinema system gives a completely matched IsoFlare front stage: the same driver technology, the same crossover frequencies, the same magnesium dome tweeter in all three positions. The ABR bass loading avoids the placement constraints of a rear-ported design, making close-to-wall and on-stand installation equally practical.

IsoFlare Driver Technology

The IsoFlare driver combines the bass/midrange cone and the high-frequency compression tweeter on a shared axis — the tweeter fires from the centre of the bass/midrange cone — so both drivers radiate sound from the same point in space. In a centre channel, where listeners are spread across a wide angle relative to the speaker, point-source behaviour is particularly valuable — the frequency response stays consistent off-axis in a way that a conventional arrangement with a physically separated tweeter cannot.

In the F500S LCR, the IsoFlare driver is a 150mm multi-fibre cone unit with a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter. A second 150mm bass driver and a 150mm ABR complete the driver complement. The magnesium dome tweeter matches the F500S standmount, which is why the two speakers are tonally consistent when used together.

Auxiliary Bass Radiator

An Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) is a passive radiating cone — it has no voice coil or magnet, but is tuned to move in sympathy with the bass pressure inside the cabinet. It extends low-frequency output without a port tube. In a wall-mounted or rack-mounted installation, this eliminates the need to keep a port opening clear of surfaces — the ABR's behaviour is determined by its tuning, not by the speaker's proximity to walls or equipment.

Practical Installation

The F500S LCR is designed for flexible installation. It can be wall-mounted in the left and right positions and placed freestanding for the centre position. The compact dimensions — 200 × 530 × 152mm — make it suitable for a wide range of installation environments, and the three finish options match the F500S, F501S, and F502S front speakers throughout.
