Rega Nd3

Rega Nd3 Moving Magnet Cartridge

The Nd3 is part of Rega's Nd moving magnet range. Rega list it as the standard fit on the Planar 3, and it carries a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

Neodymium Magnet Technology

The coils are miniaturised and parallel-wound, producing a low inductance, low impedance generator that Rega say gives vastly improved high frequency response compared to conventional moving magnet designs.

Bonded Elliptical Stylus

The Nd3 uses a bonded elliptical stylus — a robust and well-proven geometry that tracks the groove reliably and suits the practical realities of everyday vinyl listening. The window colour is red, identifying the Nd3 within the range at a glance.

Technical Specifications

Who Is It For?

The Nd3 is for the vinyl listener who wants the genuine benefits of Rega's Neodymium generator technology at the entry point of the range — someone who has invested in a capable turntable and wants a cartridge engineered to match it rather than compromise it. It is listed as a complementary component alongside the Rega Fono MM and the Rega Fono Mini A2D. Those ready to step further up the range will find the Rega Nd5 the natural next move, and the Rega Nd9 the reference point at the top of the moving magnet lineup.
