Innuos Nazaré Music Streamer and Server

The Innuos Nazaré is the company's flagship music server and streamer — a ground-up reference design that treats every element of the digital signal chain as a variable worth controlling. Built at Innuos's headquarters in Faro, Portugal, it is the product of years of research into what limits digital source performance, and it answers that question with an architecture unlike anything Innuos has produced before.

PreciseAudio Architecture

At the heart of the Nazaré is the PreciseAudio mainboard — a bespoke design that replaces the conventional approach of adapting consumer or industrial computing hardware. Dedicated PreciseUSB and PreciseNET daughter boards handle USB and network functions independently, each with their own power supply rails, wired directly to the processor and bypassing the standard mainboard signal path. The result is a USB output and network input that are electrically isolated from the noise generated by conventional computing infrastructure.

Processing is handled by a 10-core CPU running Innuos's AudioCore engine. AudioCore is a custom-tuned operating environment designed to minimise background processes, reduce electrical noise from unnecessary computation, and allocate processing resources specifically to audio tasks. Internal storage is NVMe SSD — up to 16TB can be specified at order.

Power Supply

The Nazaré's power supply was developed in direct collaboration with Dr Sean Jacobs, one of the most respected figures in audiophile power supply design. The approach centres on GaN-ARC8 modules — GaN-based active rectification with 376,000µF of capacitance per module. Regulation is handled by DC4 circuits using low-noise foil resistors and NGaN+ regulators. The transformers are high-precision multifilar toroidals, with custom Lundahl inductors completing the filtering stage.

This is not a modified off-the-shelf supply. Every rail in the Nazaré was specified from scratch, with each board receiving its own dedicated feed.

SmartStack Vibration Control

Mechanical noise is an often-overlooked source of jitter and signal degradation in digital components. The Nazaré addresses this through SmartStack — a vibration damping system co-developed with TONEO and applied across the mainboards, transformers, capacitor banks, and regulators. IsoAcoustics-tuned isolation feet handle vibration at the chassis level. The combination treats the unit as a precision instrument rather than a consumer electronic device.

NazaréFLOW — Dedicated Output Stage

The NazaréFLOW is a separate output stage unit designed to work in conjunction with the Nazaré. It provides precision USB reclocking with synchronised clock connections, on-board I2S output conversion, and support for proprietary DAC interfaces including MSB ProISL. Power is drawn from the Nazaré's PSU architecture, with separate low-noise rails dedicated to the clocks, reclocker, and output boards.

The NazaréFLOW can be connected to an existing system independently of the Nazaré, but its full capability is realised when used as part of the Nazaré system — the two units sharing a power architecture and clock reference that no outboard reclocker or USB conditioner can replicate.

NazaréNET — Audiophile Network Switch

The NazaréNET is a dedicated audiophile network switch developed as the third component in the Nazaré ecosystem. It offers SFP+ fibre and RJ45 input and output options, with dedicated power rails throughout. Network switches are a source of electrical and timing noise that affects streaming performance even in well-configured systems. The NazaréNET addresses this at source, providing a clean, stable network feed directly to the Nazaré's PreciseNET board.

Like the NazaréFLOW, the NazaréNET functions as a standalone upgrade for any network audio system — but combined with the Nazaré and NazaréFLOW, it completes a three-piece reference digital source in which every stage of the signal path has been purpose-designed.

Streaming and Software

The Nazaré is controlled via the Innuos Sense app, available on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire OS, and web browser. Supported streaming services include Qobuz, TIDAL, Deezer, HighResAudio, IDAGIO, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Internet Radio, and Radio Paradise FLAC. Roon Core and Roon Endpoint modes are both supported, as are HQPlayer NAA and AssetUPnP. File formats up to PCM 32bit/768kHz are handled natively.

Optional output boards — SPDIF, PhoenixUSB Lite, and PhoenixI2S Lite — can be added at purchase or retrofitted later. CD ripping is supported via an external USB optical drive, with metadata lookup via Discogs, FreeDB, GD3, and MusicBrainz.

Who Is It For?

The Nazaré is for the listener who has already invested seriously in their DAC and amplification, and wants to ensure the digital source is not the limiting factor. It will appeal particularly to those running high-end DACs from the likes of dCS, MSB, or Chord — components capable of resolving the differences that a reference-grade server and output stage can make. It is also the right choice for anyone building a long-term reference system who wants a digital front-end that can expand — adding the NazaréFLOW and NazaréNET as budget and appetite allow.

If you are beginning your Innuos journey, the Innuos ZENith NG or Innuos Stream1 may be a more appropriate starting point. The Nazaré is a statement product — it is priced accordingly and rewards accordingly.

Buying from Martins Hi-Fi

Martins Hi-Fi has been in Norwich since 1968. Elizabeth Gould runs the business today, and we stock only brands we have heard properly and stand behind.

We held the first UK Innuos Nazaré event and have been working with Innuos since the early days of the brand. Dave and Chris can talk you through the full Nazaré ecosystem — the server, NazaréFLOW output stage, and NazaréNET switch — and what each addition brings to your specific system. A private audition at our Norwich showroom can be arranged; this is a component that deserves to be heard, not bought on specification alone.

For those considering the wider Innuos range, we also stock the Innuos Statement and the PhoenixNET network switch, and can help you plan a system that makes sense for where you are now and where you want to go.

Contact us at info@martinshifi.co.uk, call 01603 627010, or WhatsApp on 07554 687137. You can read more about how we work on our Why Martins Hi-Fi page. We are at 85–91 Ber Street, Norwich, NR1 3EY.
