Innuos Nazaré Music Streamer and Server

he Innuos Nazaré is the company's flagship music streamer and server, built around a ground-up bespoke architecture developed to extract the maximum performance from any connected DAC. At its core is a deeply customised PreciseAudio mainboard with dedicated PreciseUSB and PreciseNET daughter boards, each independently powered and wired directly to the CPU — bypassing the conventional mainboard signal path entirely. Processing is handled by a 10-core CPU, providing substantial headroom for Innuos's AudioCore engine. Up to 16TB of internal NVMe SSD storage can be specified at time of order.

The power supply was developed in direct collaboration with Dr Sean Jacobs and represents a significant departure from previous Innuos designs. GaN-ARC8 modules provide GaN-based active rectification with 376,000µF capacitance per module, coupled with DC4 regulation using low-noise foil resistors and an NGaN+ regulator. Power is sourced through high-precision multifilar toroidal transformers and custom Lundahl inductors. Vibration control is addressed at a system level via SmartStack damping technology, co-developed with TONEO, applied across the mainboards, transformers, capacitor banks, and regulators. IsoAcoustics-tuned isolation feet complete the mechanical treatment.

The Nazaré is the first component in a complementary modular system. The NazaréFLOW is a dedicated high-performance output stage featuring precision USB reclocking with synchronised clock connections, on-board I2S output conversion, and support for proprietary DAC interfaces including MSB ProISL — all powered by the Nazaré PSU architecture with separate low-noise rails for clocks, reclocker, and output boards. The NazaréNET is a matching audiophile network switch with SFP+ fibre and RJ45 input/output options and dedicated power rails throughout. Each unit can be used independently with existing systems; combined, they form a three-piece reference digital source.

Streaming is handled via the Innuos Sense app (iOS, Android, Amazon Fire OS, and web browser), with support for Qobuz, TIDAL, Deezer, HighResAudio, IDAGIO, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Internet Radio, and Radio Paradise FLAC. Roon Core and Endpoint modes are also supported, as is HQPlayer NAA and AssetUPnP. File formats up to PCM 32bit/768kHz are handled natively. Optional output boards — SPDIF, PhoenixUSB Lite, and PhoenixI2S Lite — can be added at purchase or retrospectively.

The Nazaré received a Stereophile Recommended Component listing in the Fall 2025 edition. Each unit is handbuilt at Innuos's headquarters in Faro, Portugal.
