The ABR extends low-frequency output without a port tube, which matters practically: there is no port aperture to position clear of a wall, rack, or television cabinet. The ABR in the F5E LCR is electromagnetically damped, and the 2.5-way configuration — IsoFlare driver, dedicated 125mm bass driver, and ABR — gives a bass extension of 65Hz from a compact horizontal enclosure of just 440mm width.

The F5E LCR is designed for wall installation in left and right positions via its integrated mounting brackets, and for freestanding placement in the centre position. Crossover

The crossover divides at 350Hz and 1.8kHz. The filter topology is 2nd order low-pass and 1st order high-pass. The 350Hz lower crossover point reflects the 2.5-way configuration: the dedicated bass driver crosses in below the IsoFlare unit at that frequency, allowing the IsoFlare driver to operate across a more focused band.
