Fyne Audio F5E LCR Centre Channel Speaker
The F5E LCR is Fyne Audio's entry-level centre channel speaker — designed to match the F5E standmount in a home cinema system. LCR stands for left, centre, right: this speaker is built to function in any of those three positions, which means three F5E LCR units across the front of a system gives a completely matched IsoFlare front stage. It uses a 125mm IsoFlare point-source driver, a 125mm bass driver, and a 125mm Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) in a compact horizontal enclosure with integrated mounting brackets for wall installation. At £299.99 per unit in Black Ash vinyl, it is the most affordable Fyne Audio centre channel — and the natural companion to the F5E standmount.
IsoFlare Driver Technology
The IsoFlare driver is the central engineering decision in every Fyne Audio loudspeaker. It places the bass/midrange cone and the high-frequency compression tweeter on a shared axis — the tweeter fires from the centre of the cone — so both drivers radiate sound from a single point in space. In a centre channel, this matters particularly because the listening position is rarely directly on-axis with the speaker — most seating arrangements have listeners spread across an angle relative to the screen. IsoFlare's point-source behaviour means the response stays consistent off-axis in a way that a conventional tweeter-above-bass arrangement cannot match.
In the F5E LCR, the IsoFlare driver is a 125mm multi-fibre cone unit with a 19mm titanium dome compression tweeter — the same driver family as the F5E standmount, which is why the two speakers are tonally matched when used together.
Auxiliary Bass Radiator
An Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) is a passive radiating cone — it has no voice coil or magnet, but is tuned to move in sympathy with the bass pressure inside the cabinet. It extends low-frequency output without a port tube. In a centre channel application this is practical: there is no port opening to keep clear of a surface, and bass loading is less affected by placement on a rack, shelf, or below a screen. The F5E LCR's ABR is electromagnetically damped, which is part of the crossover tuning for the cabinet.
LCR Configuration
The F5E LCR is designed to work as a left, centre, or right speaker — all three positions, not only the centre. Running three F5E LCR units across the front of a cinema system gives a fully matched IsoFlare front stage. The integrated mounting brackets on the cabinet support wall installation for left and right positions; freestanding placement works for the centre position.
This configuration suits a cinema room where a clean, matched front stage is the priority and the budget does not extend to the F502E LCR or the SP Series centre channel. The F5E LCR is the affordable, honest way to achieve that consistency.
Crossover
The crossover divides at 350Hz and 1.8kHz. The filter topology is 2nd order low-pass and 1st order high-pass. The 350Hz lower crossover point reflects the 2.5-way configuration: the bass driver crosses in below the IsoFlare unit at that frequency.

Who Is It For?
The F5E LCR is for the buyer who wants a matched centre channel for the F5E standmount, or who wants to build an affordable IsoFlare home cinema system with matched drivers across the front stage. The 88dB sensitivity is well suited to AV receivers at moderate power levels; the compact dimensions (170 × 440 × 120mm) suit installation on a shelf, rack, or wall.
For buyers who want the same principle at a higher performance level, the F502E LCR uses a larger 200mm IsoFlare driver and suits pairing with the F501E floorstanders. Those stepping further up should consider the F57SP-6 — the SP Series centre channel built to the same specification as the F500SP and F501SP. The Fyne Audio Vintage Five is worth considering as a compact front speaker for those who prefer a heritage aesthetic alongside their cinema system.
