Cyrus Classic Stream
The Cyrus Classic Stream is a network music player built around the BluOS operating system — one of the most capable and stable streaming platforms available. It handles music from all major streaming services, your own stored library, and high-resolution files up to 24-bit/192kHz, all controlled through the BluOS app on iOS, Android, Mac or PC. Roon Ready certification and AirPlay 2 support extend its compatibility further, making the Classic Stream a genuinely future-proof streaming source.
BluOS — A Platform Built for Serious Listening
BluOS is not a proprietary app built around a single product — it is a fully developed ecosystem used across a range of high-quality audio components. It supports Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, Spotify and dozens of other services, alongside your own music library stored on a NAS, USB drive or networked computer. Multi-room functionality allows multiple BluOS players to operate in synchronised or independent zones, all controlled from a single app. The platform is actively developed and regularly updated, which means the Classic Stream benefits from improvements long after purchase.
Roon Ready
Roon Ready certification means the Classic Stream can function as a Roon endpoint, receiving audio directly from a Roon Core on your network. Roon brings together streaming services and local library files in a single interface, with rich metadata, signal path transparency, and DSP capability. For those already running a Roon system — or considering one — the Classic Stream integrates without friction.
AirPlay 2
AirPlay 2 support allows the Classic Stream to receive audio directly from any Apple device, including iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Multi-room AirPlay 2 grouping is supported, and Siri voice control can be used to select music and direct it to the Classic Stream by room. For households already within the Apple ecosystem, this is a practical and reliable secondary control path.
QXR DAC
The onboard DAC is Cyrus's own QXR design, based on the ESS ES9038Q2M chipset and developed entirely in-house. Rather than deploying the chipset in a reference configuration, Cyrus's engineering team analysed every component in the signal chain and optimised the surrounding circuitry and board layout specifically for this application. A high-speed analogue buffer stage follows the conversion stage, maintaining signal integrity through to the output. MQA decoding is built in, allowing MQA-encoded files from Tidal Masters and other sources to be fully decoded and rendered without an additional component.
PSX-R2 Upgrade Path
A dedicated port for the Cyrus PSX-R2 external power supply is included. The PSX-R2 routes clean, stable power directly to the analogue stages of the DAC — the post-conversion circuitry where noise from the power supply has the most audible effect. For a streaming source feeding a revealing amplifier and speakers, this upgrade is worth serious consideration.

Who Is It For?
The Classic Stream is for the listener who wants a dedicated streaming source with a serious onboard DAC — rather than relying on the DAC built into an integrated amplifier. It suits those building or upgrading a Classic Series system, and pairs naturally with the Cyrus Classic AMP or a separate preamplifier and power amplifier combination. Those who want a physical disc source alongside streaming should consider pairing it with the Cyrus CDt CD transport.
