Cyrus Classic Phono

The Cyrus Classic Phono is a dedicated phono preamplifier built for the serious vinyl enthusiast. Four Independent Inputs

Each of the four inputs is individually configured for MM or MC operation, with gain, load resistance and capacitance adjustable per cartridge. Settings are saved to memory and recalled automatically — so every cartridge is always presented with exactly the conditions it requires, without re-adjustment each time you switch. For the collector who runs more than one deck, or the enthusiast who likes to compare cartridges directly, this is a genuinely practical advantage rather than a specification footnote.

Balanced Outputs and Warp Filter

Both XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced outputs are provided, giving compatibility across a wide range of amplifiers and preamplifiers. A switchable warp filter reduces subsonic bass energy generated by warped records, protecting speaker drivers and recovering amplifier headroom that would otherwise be wasted on inaudible low-frequency content. A ground lift switch is also included to eliminate hum where earth loop issues arise.

Output Meters

Stereo output meters with peak hold are fitted to the fascia — a practical feature that makes setting gain levels straightforward and gives a clear visual indication of signal activity. At a price point where many phono stages offer nothing more than a power LED, this is a welcome addition.

PSX-R2 Upgrade Path

A dedicated port for the Cyrus PSX-R2 external power supply is built in. In a phono stage working with millivolt-level signals, separating the power supply from the signal circuitry has a direct and audible effect on noise floor and low-level detail. It is the single most effective upgrade available for this component, and Cyrus have ensured the path is straightforward from the outset.
