The SM-011 is Vitus Audio's entry point into the Signature Series monoblock — a pure monaural power amplifier built around the same core engineering principles that define every product bearing the Signature name. One channel per chassis, zero global negative feedback, a fully balanced signal path from input to output, and a 1.4kVA custom UI transformer with less than 2% loss. These are not marketing positions — they are the structural decisions that determine what the amplifier is capable of before a single note is played.

True Balanced Topology

The SM-011 operates with a fully balanced signal path from input to output. Running a monoblock in true balanced configuration keeps common-mode noise rejection intact across the entire amplification chain, and means the amplifier receives and processes the signal in the same form it left the preamplifier. Paired with a balanced linestage such as the Vitus Audio SL-103, the signal path from source to speaker never leaves balanced topology.

Zero Global Negative Feedback

No global negative feedback is applied at any stage of the SM-011. Negative feedback, when applied globally, corrects errors after they have occurred — which introduces time-domain distortions that are measurably small but audibly present in complex musical passages. Vitus Audio's position is that it is better to build the circuit correctly in the first place. The SM-011 is their answer to what that looks like in practice at this level.

Custom UI Transformer and Energy Storage

The SM-011's 1.4kVA custom UI transformer is specified to less than 2% loss — a figure that matters because transformer losses show up directly in the amplifier's ability to handle dynamic peaks without compression. Supporting it is a 240,000µF capacitor bank per monoblock, providing the energy reservoir needed to meet instantaneous current demands without drawing on the mains supply during transients.

Rock and Classic Output Coupling Modes

First developed for the Vitus MP-S201, the SM-011 offers two selectable output coupling modes: Rock and Classic. Each mode alters the character of the output stage coupling in a way that changes how the amplifier presents the music — Rock offering greater grip and control, Classic a more open presentation. Neither is correct in the abstract; the right choice depends on the speakers, the room, and the listener. We can demonstrate both at the Norwich showroom so you can decide with your own ears.

Fully Modular Architecture

The SM-011 is built on a fully modular internal architecture, designed from the outset to support future upgrades. At this level of investment, longevity matters — the SM-011 is not a product you replace; it is one you develop over time.

Finishes

Standard finishes are Pure White, Jet Black, and Warm Silver. Popular bespoke finishes include Titanium Orange, Dark Champagne, and Titanium Grey. Unique colour finishes and internal configurations are available on request.
