Tellurium Q Blue Diamond Speaker Cable

The Blue Diamond occupies a fascinating position in the Tellurium Q range. Formerly known as the Green, it sits at the top of the Blue family and pairs naturally with the Ultra Black — but it has a distinct character all of its own. Where other cables in the range aim for strict neutrality, the Blue Diamond brings a very slight mellowing quality to the presentation, making it particularly well suited to systems with a touch of brightness, or to class D and T amplifiers that can sometimes benefit from a more refined top end.

This is not a cable that sacrifices detail in the name of smoothness, however. Quite the opposite. Reviewers have described the Blue Diamond as delivering an onion skin array of musical detail — bass with genuine multi-tonal depth, vocals with a complexity that neither the Blue nor Black cables quite reach, and a soundstage that opens up in all three dimensions. Fast transients are handled with real confidence and sure-footedness, and the sense of space and instrument placement within a recording is genuinely impressive.

The current Blue Diamond is a significantly improved design over the original green-jacketed version. One of the notable changes is a dramatic reduction in burn-in time — the original required an extraordinarily long run-in period before it revealed its full potential, to the point where it almost sounded like a different cable before and after. The redesign retains all of that top-end performance while getting there much sooner. One experienced customer, having replaced Shunyata Cobras and top-of-the-range Cardas cables with the Blue Diamond, reported that it surpassed both in every parameter — and crucially, left him with no sense of anything lacking.

HiFi Pig named it an Outstanding Product, HiFi Plus awarded it Cable of the Year, and HiFi World gave it five globes. Awards well earned.
