It dominates a room, and it is designed to do exactly that — the question is whether the picture keeps pace with the scale. 4K content at this size remains sharp rather than soft, and lower-resolution material is pulled up rather than exposed.
Supersize Picture Enhancer
At 98 inches, upscaling is everything. Samsung's Supersize Picture Enhancer applies AI-driven processing specifically tuned for large-screen viewing — addressing sharpness, noise reduction and black level enhancement as a single integrated pass rather than sequential filters. Mega Contrast and UHD Dimming work alongside this to maintain depth across the picture, while Contrast Enhancer keeps detail visible in both shadows and highlights. HDR10+ support extends dynamic range further, and Filmmaker Mode disables post-processing when the source calls for it, preserving the original colour grading and frame rate.
Audio
OTS Lite provides object-based sound processing, and Q-Symphony allows compatible Samsung soundbars to work in concert with the TV's own speakers rather than replacing them.

Who Is It For?
The Samsung Crystal 98" UHD TV is for those who want cinema-scale viewing at home without moving to a commercial display or projection setup. It suits large open-plan living spaces where a 65- or 75-inch panel simply disappears, and where the viewing distance justifies the screen area. It is not the right choice for a modest room, and it does not carry the mini-LED or OLED technology of Samsung's upper ranges — but at 98 inches, the DU9000 offers a breadth of picture processing and smart capability that is difficult to match at the price.
