Avoiding Parallel Lines

Most rectangular shelves create parallel internal surfaces, and parallel surfaces encourage resonance — the same problem instrument makers have worked around for centuries. Quadraspire design the Q4 EVO's shelves to break this pattern where possible, reducing the standing waves that would otherwise colour the sound reaching your components.

Intricate Machining

Each shelf is machined specifically to reduce resonance. The effect is a lower noise floor: detail that might otherwise be masked by structural vibration is allowed to emerge, and the presentation of the music opens up as a result.

Chamfered Edges

All shelf edges are chamfered. This is not decorative — chamfering helps dissipate energy rather than allowing it to reflect back through the structure.

Solid Aluminium Columns

Quadraspire use solid aluminium for every column and foot. Steel tube — the common alternative — resonates in a way that is audible to careful listening. Aluminium's lower resonance character keeps the support structure itself out of the signal path.

Solid Bamboo Ply Shelves

The shelves are made from solid bamboo ply, a material chosen for its vibration-suppressing properties and its carbon-neutral credentials. Bamboo is substantially better at damping energy than glass, which resonates and distorts rather than controls. Shelf finishes available are natural bamboo, dark bamboo, cherry bamboo, and black bamboo.

Configuration and Options

Columns are available in black or matt silver, in heights of 100 mm, 140 mm, 180 mm, 216 mm, 256 mm, or 326 mm — giving you precise control over shelf spacing to suit your equipment. The maximum recommended build height is eight tiers or 1,500 mm. Each shelf carries up to 80 kg, and the rack can be fitted with spikes, flat feet, or castors depending on your floor and preference.

For those wanting to take things further, the optional SV Bronze 30 upgrade uses bronze and brass components — materials that offer further resonance reduction — and is available across the Quadraspire range. A wall-mounted variant, the Q4L EVO, is also available and shares the same 80 kg per shelf rating.
