The Quad Elegan 2 is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed for larger listening spaces and greater dynamic capability. Where the Elegan 1 offers a compact two-way solution, the Elegan 2 steps up to a more sophisticated architecture — twin bass drivers, a dedicated midrange unit in its own isolated enclosure, and a precision tweeter mounted in a profiled waveguide — all working together as a single coherent acoustic system.
Three-Way Architecture
Dedicating individual drive units to bass, midrange and treble reproduction allows each driver to operate within its optimum range. Twin 165mm woven Kevlar bass drivers handle low-frequency extension with control and composure. A 125mm woven Kevlar midrange driver, housed in its own isolated enclosure, reproduces vocals and instruments with clarity and tonal accuracy. A 25mm soft dome tweeter, mounted within a profiled waveguide, ensures consistent dispersion across a wide listening area. A Linkwitz-Riley crossover network integrates all three, maintaining phase coherence and tonal consistency across the full frequency range.
QUAD Airflow™ Bass Reflex
The Elegan 2 uses QUAD's Airflow™ bass reflex system, which is engineered to reduce port turbulence and deliver cleaner, faster and more articulate bass reproduction. Combined with extensive internal cabinet bracing and resonance control, the result is a speaker that stays composed under pressure — bass that is powerful without becoming dominant, and a presentation that holds together during complex musical passages.
Scale Without Strain
The Elegan 2 is built for listeners who want genuine floorstanding scale without the fatigue that can accompany it. Stereo imaging extends well beyond the cabinet boundaries, bass reaches deep and controlled low frequencies, and the midrange remains open and expressive whether the music is a solo voice or a full orchestra. It is a speaker that does not shout to be heard — which, in our experience, is often the most telling sign of quality.

Who Is It For?
