Personalise Your Sondek LP12
The Sondek LP12 has been in continuous production since 1972 — a turntable whose mechanical architecture has been refined across five decades without ever departing from the fundamental design that makes it work. In that time, it has been available in a small and carefully considered range of wood veneer finishes. That is no longer the full picture. Linn now offers two personalisation programmes that allow the LP12 to be specified in any colour finish the owner chooses, and monogrammed with up to four laser-etched letters on the armboard. The result is an LP12 that is not merely one of the finest turntables in the world — it is specifically and permanently yours.
Any Colour, Any Finish
Every LP12 in current production can be ordered in any high gloss colour finish. The source of that colour is entirely open — a shade from a favourite album sleeve, a colour that matches existing furniture, a particular paint reference, or simply a colour that feels right. Linn will hand-craft the finish to match, producing a plinth whose surface quality is consistent with the LP12's overall standard of manufacture.
For those who prefer a more conventional appearance but want a higher-gloss result than the standard veneer finishes, Linn's full range of standard wood finishes is now also available in high gloss — alongside Piano Black and High Gloss White as dedicated high gloss options within the core range.
If your system includes Linn loudspeakers, those too can be finished in a matching high gloss colour — creating a visually unified system whose aesthetic coherence extends beyond the standard finish options of any other manufacturer.
Monogramming
For the most personal possible LP12, Linn offers precision laser-etching of up to four letters on the armboard. The monogram is applied with the accuracy that laser etching permits — not printed, not applied as a label, but cut into the surface of the component itself. It is as permanent as the turntable. On a product that is serviced, upgraded, and passed between owners across generations, a monogram is a statement of ownership that no subsequent upgrade path removes.
How to Order
Personalisation options — including colour preview and monogram configuration — are available to explore via the Linn website. At Martins Hi-Fi, we manage the personalisation order process on your behalf, ensuring the specification is correct before it is committed to production. Given that a custom colour finish is not reversible, this is a process worth taking the time to get right from the outset.
If you are considering a personalised LP12 alongside a service or upgrade — a Karousel bearing installation, a new tonearm, or a plinth replacement — combining the work is straightforward, and we can advise on the most effective sequence.
