Meridian DSW600 Active In-Wall Subwoofer

The DSW600 is Meridian's active in-wall subwoofer — deep bass to 24Hz from a cabinet that sits flush with the wall. It is designed for architectural installations where a freestanding subwoofer is not appropriate, and where the bass performance of the in-wall DSP loudspeakers — the DSP730 or DSP750 — needs reinforcement or where a dedicated LFE channel requires a separate unit.

Meridian's DSP processing and Enhanced Bass Alignment technology are what makes 24Hz extension possible from an in-wall cabinet. Without active digital bass correction, the physical constraints of a shallow wall-depth enclosure prevent the kind of extension the DSW600 achieves. The result is in-wall bass performance that competes with freestanding subwoofers considerably larger than anything that could be recessed into standard wall construction. DSP and Enhanced Bass Alignment

Meridian's Enhanced Bass Alignment technology applies multi-stage digital signal processing to extend and control low-frequency output well below what the driver and cabinet alone could produce. It combines bass extension filtering with group delay correction — ensuring that the low-frequency output from the DSW600 arrives at the listening position with correct timing relative to the midrange and treble from the main loudspeakers.

In a system where the DSW600 supplements the DSP730 or DSP750, the full-range timing coherence that Meridian's Full Frequency Alignment delivers from the main speakers is maintained through the bass octaves — the subwoofer is not a separate system bolted on, but an integrated part of a coherent acoustic result.

Installation and Connectivity

The DSW600 installs into a wall cavity using a rough-in box and frame, with a paintable grille for finish matching. SpeakerLink (RJ45) input and output allows it to be daisy-chained with other Meridian DSP loudspeakers or connected directly to a 218 Zone Controller or 271.

Multiple DSW600 units can be deployed in the same room — additional units increase output and improve low-frequency distribution across a large listening area.

Who Is It For?

The DSW600 is for dedicated home cinema rooms and large architectural installations where the DSP730 or DSP750 is the main loudspeaker and dedicated in-wall subwoofer performance is required. It is also appropriate for two-channel architectural systems where a visible freestanding subwoofer is not acceptable. Those who can accommodate a freestanding unit should consider the DSW.2 instead.
