Combining both digital and analogue outputs, the Sooloos/MQA–enabled Meridian 218 is suitable for a wide range of distributed audio applications from single zone to multi-zone use. With control features including IP and IR, easily integrated with 3^rd Party control systems, this versatile 1U-high product can be rack, shelf, or wall mounted.

Connections

Incorporating both digital and analogue input and outputs, the MQA–enabled Meridian 218 zone controller suits a broad variety of distributed audio applications whether in single or multi-zone mode. IP/IR control features are included enabling easy partnering between the versatile unit and any Meridian power amplifier or DSP loudspeaker.

Sooloos

Sooloos is Meridian's patented intuitive visual music management interface. It offers a simple solution for storing your CD collection, uploading digital music library or streaming music using TIDAL, all in flawless, hi-res audio quality. Meridian Sooloos can be controlled from anywhere on your network; simply setup for one or multiple zones on a range of devices including Mac, PC, mobile or tablet for one-touch access.

Lip-Sync

Video processing typically delays the picture. As sound travels slower than light, the effect of the sound arriving before the picture is highly noticeable. For installations where the audio and video are separated before video processing, the Meridian 218 has adjustable audio delay to realign the audio with the video.

Apodising Filter

Filters are critical in digital audio. Commonly they introduce distortion and harshness because of "pre-ringing". Early digital recordings suffer from harshness too, due to primitive filters. After painstaking research, Meridian developed a special filter that avoids pre-ringing, so it can be steeper, cleaning up the effects of early filters. The result is a better, cleaner sound from recordings old and new.

Upsampling

Using a complex digital filter, Meridian 218 can double the sample rate from a source to improve resolution of the finer details in the record. This means that even with a standard source such as CD, upsampling technology is able to significantly enhance the listening experience.
