Gold Note Machiavelli MkII

Gold Note Machiavelli MkII

As the result of a decade of research and development, the Gold Note Machiavelli MkII is designed to satisfy even the most demanding enthusiast. Enclosed in an elegant alloy body, it offers surprising fluidity and extended dynamics — qualities that place it as an undisputed reference point in the MC cartridge field. It is available in two models: Gold, with an output level of 0.4mV, and Red, with an output level of 0.5mV. Both are mounted on an extra rigid cantilever. The Machiavelli MkII is designed to offer what Gold Note describe as surprising fluidity and extended dynamics — qualities that place it as a reference point in the MC cartridge field.

Alloy Body

The Machiavelli MkII is enclosed in an elegant alloy body — a material chosen for its rigidity and resonance characteristics. The body's role in a moving coil cartridge is not passive: it is the interface between the generator assembly and the tonearm, and its stiffness determines how much unwanted energy is introduced into the signal path. The alloy construction of the Machiavelli MkII is central to Gold Note's approach to isolating the generator from external interference.

Two Models: Gold and Red

The Machiavelli MkII is offered in two distinct configurations. The Gold model has a low output level of 0.4mV and uses a Line Contact diamond. Both models share the same alloy body and extra rigid cantilever.

Who Is It For?

The Machiavelli MkII is for the serious vinyl enthusiast who wants a reference-level moving coil cartridge and is prepared to match it with a capable MC phono stage. Both models reward careful system matching. Those looking at the wider Gold Note cartridge range should also consider the Gold Note Donatello and the Gold Note Tuscany.
