Fyne Audio Vintage Fifteen

The Vintage Fifteen is the pinnacle of Fyne Audio's Vintage series — a full-size floorstanding loudspeaker of extraordinary ambition, built around the largest IsoFlare point-source driver Fyne Audio produce: a 380mm multi-fibre cone paired with a 75mm titanium alloy dome compression tweeter and neodymium magnet system. At 97dB sensitivity, 22Hz bass extension, and a recommended amplifier power range of 20–400W, the Vintage Fifteen sets a standard that few loudspeakers at any price can approach — and does so wrapped in birch ply cabinetry with oiled walnut veneer and solid walnut trim that renders it as compelling an object as it is a transducer.

IsoFlare Driver Technology

The IsoFlare driver combines the bass/midrange cone and the high-frequency compression tweeter on a shared axis — the tweeter fires from the centre of the bass/midrange driver — so both drivers radiate from precisely the same point in space. The result is isotropic dispersion: sound radiates evenly in all directions, and the time relationship between bass, midrange, and treble remains consistent across the entire listening area, regardless of where you sit. At 380mm, the IsoFlare driver in the Vintage Fifteen moves extraordinary volumes of air with minimal effort — which is how 97dB sensitivity and 22Hz extension coexist without compromise. A 75mm titanium dome compression tweeter handles high-frequency output at the dynamic levels this sensitivity makes available; distortion remains controlled where a smaller dome would struggle. The crossover divides at 750Hz, giving the IsoFlare a wide operating range it handles with the composure only a driver of this mass and cone area can provide.

BassTrax Tractrix Diffuser and Cabinet

The downfiring port couples to a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser at the base — a Tractrix-profiled horn that smooths the bass-to-room transition, reducing port colouration and floor-boundary reflection. The cabinet is birch ply throughout, veneered in oiled walnut with solid walnut trim and extensive internal bracing: structurally rigid, effectively damped, and visually extraordinary. At 92.9kg each, the Vintage Fifteen is a physically commanding presence in any room.

High-Frequency and Presence Adjustment

Rear-panel controls provide independent adjustment of high-frequency energy (750Hz–26kHz, ±3dB) and presence (2.5kHz–5kHz, ±3dB) — allowing fine-tuning to room acoustics and partnering equipment without external equalisation. At this scale, where room interaction at both frequency extremes can be significant, these controls are a meaningful practical advantage.

Who Is It For?

The Vintage Fifteen is for the listener with a large room, a serious system, and an appreciation for the heritage aesthetic of classic British loudspeaker design executed with contemporary engineering. At 97dB sensitivity, a 20-watt single-ended triode amplifier will drive it to levels that fill a large room with authority — yet the 400W upper limit means high-powered solid-state amplification finds no ceiling. The 22Hz bass extension requires no subwoofer augmentation for any recorded music programme.
