The Vintage Classic X steps up to a 250mm IsoFlare driver and a 75mm titanium alloy dome compression tweeter — the same driver combination used in the upper F700SP models. At 94dB sensitivity and with bass reaching to 28Hz in-room, it is a significantly more capable speaker than the 8-inch models, suited to larger rooms and more demanding amplification combinations.
IsoFlare with Titanium Tweeter
The 250mm IsoFlare concentrically mounts a 75mm titanium alloy dome compression tweeter at the centre of the bass/midrange cone. The larger titanium dome offers higher sensitivity and a wider dispersion pattern than the smaller magnesium dome used in the VIII models, and its natural resonance falls comfortably above the audio band. The crossover transition at 750Hz is lower than the VIII's 1.8kHz, reducing the amount of audible information the tweeter handles and improving system coherence through the critical midrange region.
Cabinet and BassTrax
The high-density fibreboard cabinet is finished in walnut veneer with extensive internal bracing. The BassTrax downward-firing Tractrix diffuser handles bass loading, with the Tractrix profile controlling port turbulence at the larger cone excursions the 250mm driver is capable of. In-room bass extension to 28Hz is achieved without a subwoofer. Rear panel adjustments allow ±3dB control of HF energy and Presence to tune treble for room acoustics.

Who Is It For?
The Vintage Classic X is for listeners who want the acoustic advantages of a large IsoFlare driver — high sensitivity, wide and even dispersion, deep bass extension — in a speaker with a traditional visual character. At 45kg per speaker it is a serious physical commitment, but the performance is commensurate. The 94dB sensitivity and minimum recommended amplifier power of just 20W makes it an outstanding match for single-ended valve amplification. It rewards careful amplifier and source matching and benefits from room treatment in larger spaces.
