The Vintage Classic VIII is the floorstanding version of Fyne Audio's Vintage Classic range — a full-height walnut-veneered cabinet carrying a 200mm IsoFlare driver and BassTrax twin cavity port system. Dimensionally larger than the SM standmount, it reaches deeper into bass territory and has greater power handling, whilst sharing the same IsoFlare point source driver and crossover topology.
IsoFlare Point Source Driver
The 200mm IsoFlare driver places a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter concentrically at the bass/midrange cone's geometric centre, eliminating the inter-driver distance that causes time-alignment issues in conventional two-way designs. The FyneFlute roll surround controls harmonic distortion. A Cryo-Lite treated 1.8kHz crossover divides the audio band between the IsoFlare assembly and bass radiation from the same cone unit.
Cabinet and BassTrax
The twin cavity loading system, combined with the BassTrax downward-firing Tractrix diffuser, extends in-room bass to 30Hz. The high-density fibreboard cabinet is extensively braced and finished in walnut veneer — visually consistent with the heritage-inspired aesthetic of the Vintage Classic series. HF energy and Presence controls on the rear panel allow ±3dB adjustment of the treble character to suit room acoustics.

Who Is It For?
The Vintage Classic VIII floorstanding suits listeners who want the IsoFlare point source character and BassTrax bass loading in a full-height cabinet without the footprint or weight of the larger X and XII models. It works well in medium-sized rooms and pairs naturally with amplifiers from around 30W upwards — the 91dB sensitivity means it doesn't need to be driven hard. For those drawn to the retro aesthetic but wanting genuinely contemporary performance, the Vintage Classic VIII is the most practical entry into that part of the range.
