IsoFlare Driver Technology

The FyneFlute rubber surround is fitted to the bass/midrange cone, minimising resonance at the cone termination and improving clarity through the upper bass and lower midrange. At 200mm, the IsoFlare moves substantially more air than the 125mm unit in the F1-5, which accounts for the F1-8's greater dynamic authority, deeper bass extension, and higher sensitivity of 92dB versus 90dB.

BassTrax Tractrix Diffuser and Aluminium Plinth

The machined aluminium plinth beneath the cabinet houses Fyne Audio's BassTrax Tractrix diffuser. The downfiring port connects directly to this diffuser, which controls the expanding bass wavefront as it exits the cabinet. The Tractrix profile reduces turbulence and port colouration and smooths the transition between port output and room — meaning the F1-8 is meaningfully less sensitive to floor boundary effects and room placement than a conventional rear-ported standmount at this driver size. The plinth also provides a stable, low-resonance foundation that contributes to the speaker's composure at higher listening levels.

Cabinet and Finish

The cabinet is hand-finished at Fyne Audio's Scottish manufacturing facility in real walnut veneer with burr walnut inlay. Every F1-8 is built to the same standard as the F1 floorstanders — materials, construction tolerances, and finish quality all reflect the flagship status of the series.
