Fyne Audio F1-5
The Fyne Audio F1-5 is the entry point into the flagship F1 series — and a standmount that makes an immediate and compelling case for what point-source engineering can achieve in a compact cabinet. Built around a 125mm IsoFlare driver with FyneFlute surround, a machined aluminium plinth housing the BassTrax Tractrix diffuser, and a passive low-loss crossover with Deep Cryogenic Treatment throughout, the F1-5 reaches 40Hz in-room and carries a sensitivity of 90dB. Every construction tolerance, finish standard, and engineering decision that governs the F1 floorstanders applies without exception to the F1-5 — it is not a simplified or scaled-down interpretation of the F1 standard, but the full F1 standard in the most compact cabinet the range offers.
IsoFlare Driver Technology
The 125mm IsoFlare is Fyne Audio's point-source driver in its most compact F1 implementation — a multi-fibre cone with FyneFlute roll surround and a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter mounted coaxially at its centre. Both drivers share a common acoustic axis, radiating from a single point in space. True time alignment across the frequency range follows directly from this geometry — as does the isotropic dispersion that gives the F1-5 its stable, room-filling soundstage and precise imaging whether the listener is seated on-axis or moving around the room. The FyneFlute surround minimises resonances at the cone termination, improving low-level detail retrieval through the upper bass and lower midrange — a region where the F1-5's coherence sets it apart from standmounts using conventional separated-driver arrangements at this price. The result is a speaker that resolves fine musical texture with an authority that its compact dimensions give no indication of.
BassTrax Tractrix Diffuser and Aluminium Plinth
The machined aluminium plinth beneath the F1-5 cabinet houses the BassTrax Tractrix diffuser — the termination point for the downfiring port. The Tractrix profile controls the expanding bass wavefront as it exits the enclosure, reducing turbulence and smoothing the port-to-room transition in a way that a conventional rear-ported standmount cannot approach. The practical result is a speaker that is meaningfully less sensitive to floor-boundary effects than a rear-ported design of comparable driver size — and one that achieves 40Hz extension from a cabinet that suits a genuinely wide range of listening rooms. The machined aluminium plinth also provides a stable, low-resonance foundation that contributes to the F1-5's composure at higher listening levels and reinforces the build quality that the F1 designation demands.
Crossover and Connections
The crossover divides at 1.7kHz — a bi-wired passive low-loss design with Deep Cryogenic Treatment applied to all crossover components. Deep Cryogenic Treatment reduces micro-distortion across the entire crossover network — a process that is standard throughout the F1 range and contributes directly to the F1-5's grain-free, effortless presentation. The connection panel includes a fifth terminal to earth the driver chassis, eliminating RF interference conducted through the amplifier or cables. Bi-wiring is supported.

Who Is It For?
The F1-5 is for the listener who wants the full F1 engineering standard — Deep Cryogenic Treatment, machined aluminium plinth, BassTrax loading, and IsoFlare point-source coherence — in the most compact cabinet the F1 range offers. It suits rooms where a larger standmount or floorstander would dominate, and rewards careful stand selection and amplifier matching. Those wanting to step up within the F1 standmount range should audition the Fyne Audio F1-8s, which uses a larger IsoFlare and reaches deeper into the bass register with greater dynamic authority. The Fyne Audio SuperTrax super tweeter is worth considering for any F1 series system where extended high-frequency performance is a priority. Those drawn to the Fyne Audio Vintage line should also explore the Fyne Audio Vintage Five, which offers a distinctly different aesthetic and acoustic character.
Buying from Martins Hi-Fi
Martins Hi-Fi has been in Norwich since 1968. Elizabeth Gould runs the business today, and we stock only brands we have heard properly and stand behind. The F1-5 is available to hear in our Norwich showroom alongside the wider F1 range — call ahead and we will arrange a dedicated listening session with careful attention to stand selection and system matching. When you get in touch, you'll be speaking with Dave, Chris and Tim — experienced specialists who can advise on this product and your whole system.
