Fyne Audio F1-12S Floorstanding Speaker

The F1-12S is Fyne Audio's largest and most ambitious floorstanding loudspeaker — a 2-way design built around a 300mm IsoFlare driver with a 75mm titanium dome compression tweeter at its centre, a 96dB sensitivity, and a frequency response that extends to 24Hz in-room without a subwoofer. At 72kg per speaker and over 1.3 metres tall, it is a serious engineering statement and demands a room to match.

300mm IsoFlare Driver

At 300mm in diameter, the IsoFlare driver in the F1-12S is the largest in the Fyne Audio range. The 75mm titanium dome compression tweeter is positioned concentrically at the cone's exact geometric centre, sharing the same acoustic origin as the bass/midrange radiation. The result is coherent point source behaviour across an extremely wide frequency range — from the crossover point at 750Hz all the way to 26kHz — with a sensitivity of 96dB that means very little amplifier power is needed to produce high listening levels.

BassTrax Tractrix Loading

Bass energy is routed downward through a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser, using the floor boundary to reinforce low-frequency output and distribute bass into the room in a controlled, non-localised way. The Tractrix profile minimises port turbulence even at the large cone excursions the 300mm driver is capable of, keeping bass articulate and fast at listening levels that smaller speakers simply cannot approach.

Crossover and Adjustments

The single 750Hz crossover uses a bi-wired passive low loss design with deep cryogenically treated components throughout. HF energy and Presence controls at the rear provide ±3dB adjustment, allowing the speaker's treble character to be tuned to room acoustics and listening preference without affecting the midrange. Finish is Piano Gloss Walnut.

Who Is It For?

The F1-12S is for the listener who wants the best that Fyne Audio makes, has the room for it, and is prepared to live with a speaker that can genuinely do everything a loudspeaker is expected to do — wide dynamic range, full bass extension, and point source coherence. The 96dB sensitivity makes it usable with low-powered amplifiers, including single-ended valve designs from 10–20 watts, as well as large solid-state amplification.
