Entreq Magneus Power
What It Does — and Why It Matters
Every power cable carries more than current. It also generates electromagnetic fields that interact with nearby components, cables, and circuitry. Those interactions introduce noise, disrupt timing, and affect tonal focus in ways that are rarely attributed to their true cause. Most listening rooms contain this kind of interference as standard; most listeners simply accept it as the baseline.
Magneus Power works by reshaping the electromagnetic field around a cable rather than shielding or absorbing it. The distinction matters. Conventional suppression methods — ferrite rings, shielding, filters — can damp dynamics or alter the tonal character of a system. Magneus Power avoids those trade-offs by using a combination of paramagnetic and dielectric materials arranged in a carefully structured internal geometry. The result is a calmer field environment without any intervention in the conductor or signal itself.
Where to Use It
Entreq identify two key placements where electromagnetic fields are at their strongest and where shaping those fields is most audible:
- Power cables — particularly near the IEC inlet, wall plug, or power distribution hub
- Speaker cables — near the speaker binding posts
Installation is straightforward: disconnect the cable from one component, pass it through the opening at the centre of the Magneus Power, and reconnect. Placement can be anywhere along the cable's length, though the points above are where Entreq recommend starting.
Materials and Construction
The Magneus Power is built from wood, tungsten, aluminium, copper, and brass — a mix of materials chosen for their paramagnetic and dielectric properties rather than for aesthetics alone. The unit is a single piece measuring 180 mm in length, 100 mm wide, and 100 mm tall, with a central elliptical opening of 55 mm × 65 mm to accommodate cables of varying thickness.
What to Expect
Users of the Magneus range typically describe a system that feels more settled. Bass control improves, tonal density increases, and complex or layered recordings come through with greater clarity of phrasing and intent. Backgrounds become quieter — not in the sense of reduced volume, but in the sense that the music sits in a cleaner space. These are the kinds of changes that are easier to hear than to anticipate.
System Synergy
Magneus Power is part of Entreq's broader approach to electromagnetic field management, and works alongside the rest of the Magneus family. Entreq recommend pairing it with the Macro Twin Kit for negative speaker terminal grounding and the MaxMix T2 Kit for RFI and EMI removal at the speaker terminals. Used together, they address the electromagnetic environment from power entry through to signal output — a coherent approach rather than a collection of isolated fixes.

Who Is It For?
The Magneus Power is for listeners who have invested seriously in their system and are aware that something is still not quite right — a hardness in the upper midrange, a restlessness in complex passages, a bass that moves air but lacks precision. It is not a product for sceptics, and it is not the place to start if cables, amplification, or speaker placement have not yet been addressed. But for a system that is otherwise well sorted, it addresses a real and commonly overlooked problem at its source.
It is also worth noting that this is not a product that works by placebo or expectation. The materials and geometry are specified with engineering intent; the mechanism is passive and measurable. Whether you approach it empirically or by ear, the Magneus Power has a coherent rationale behind it.
Buying from Martins Hi-Fi
Martins Hi-Fi has been in Norwich since 1968. Elizabeth Gould runs the business today, and we stock only brands we have heard properly and stand behind.
We carry the Entreq range at our Norwich showroom, and we are happy to discuss how the Magneus Power might fit into your specific system before you commit to a purchase.
When you get in touch, you'll be speaking with Dave, Chris and Tim — experienced specialists who can advise on this product and your whole system.
