Cyrus Classic Power
The Classic Power is a stereo power amplifier. It has no preamplifier stage, no DAC, no streaming — just an amplifier circuit and the power supply to drive it. That focus is the point. The Classic Power exists for those running a separate preamplifier who want a dedicated amplification stage built to the same standard as the rest of their Cyrus system.
Like the Classic AMP, this is not a refreshed version of a previous product. The circuit topology has been completely redesigned by the Cyrus R&D team, applying what they learned developing the XR Series. The majority of internal components have been upgraded. The familiar Classic chassis remains; the engineering inside it is new.
Power Amplifier
The wideband power amplifier responds from DC to beyond 50kHz, ensuring a flat frequency response and keeping phase shifts out of the audio band. Power output is 87W per channel into 8Ω, 110W into 6Ω, and 144W into 4Ω. THD+N at 1kHz, two-thirds power into 6Ω, is less than 0.002%. Signal-to-noise ratio is greater than 100dB unweighted. Frequency response is less than 0.5Hz to greater than 48kHz at -3dB.
Input sensitivity at 110W into 6Ω is 450mV via RCA and 900mV via XLR. Input impedance is 28kΩ.
408VA Power Supply
The power supply is built around a 408VA toroidal transformer — large for an amplifier in this chassis size. A generous, over-specified power supply is not a luxury in an amplifier; it is the reserve that allows the output stage to respond to sudden dynamic demands without compression or instability. The Classic Power's supply is rated to deliver cleanly under those conditions.
Balanced and Unbalanced Inputs
The Classic Power accepts both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR inputs. The RCA inputs are fitted with a daisy-chain output, allowing the signal to be passed to a second power amplifier — useful for bi-amplification configurations or for expanding a system without replacing the preamplifier. Both input types are switchable.
PSX-R2 Upgrade Port
The Classic Power includes a dedicated port for the Cyrus PSX-R2 external power supply. When connected, the PSX-R2 routes power internally to the voltage amplifier stage of the Classic Power — the part of the circuit most sensitive to power supply noise. The result is a more stable, lower-noise supply to a stage where that stability makes a measurable and audible difference.
It is a worthwhile upgrade path. The Classic Power is already a well-engineered amplifier; the PSX-R2 allows the voltage amplifier stage to perform closer to its full potential.
System Integration
The Classic Power connects to Cyrus's MC-BUS system control network, allowing it to be switched in and out of standby as part of a coordinated Cyrus system. A 12V trigger input serves the same function for non-Cyrus control systems and custom installation environments. Standby power consumption is low, and the unit can be configured to switch automatically with the rest of the system.
A firmware upgrade port is also provided — the Classic Power can be updated in the field without returning the unit.

Who Is It For?
The Classic Power is for the Cyrus Classic Series owner running a separate preamplifier who wants a dedicated power amplifier built to the same standard as the rest of the system. It pairs naturally with the Cyrus Classic AMP used in preamplifier mode, or with the Cyrus Classic Stream feeding directly into a power amplifier stage. For those stepping up to the 40 Series, the Cyrus 40 PSU offers a comparable dedicated power supply upgrade path at the higher tier.
It is not the right choice for those who need an integrated amplifier — the Classic AMP handles that role. The Classic Power is a single-purpose component for a system that has already separated its source, control, and amplification stages.
