Hybrid Noise Cancellation — Six Microphones, No Shortcuts

Six microphones are built into the Px7 S2 to handle both noise cancellation and call clarity. The hybrid ANC system works by sampling sound both outside and inside the earcup, allowing the processing to cancel unwanted noise with considerably more precision than single-microphone designs. The result is noise cancellation that does not flatten the music — transient energy and dynamic contrast are preserved rather than smeared in the process of shutting out the world around you. When you need to hear what is happening around you, Ambient Pass-Through brings environmental sound back in without removing the headphones.

Custom 40mm Drive Units

At the heart of the Px7 S2 are custom-designed 40mm drive units, angled deliberately inside each earcup. The angle is not cosmetic — it mirrors the geometry of a studio monitor placement relative to the listener's ear, which is how B&W's acoustic engineers design for natural, even frequency response. The result is a presentation that sits correctly in space rather than feeling artificially widened or compressed.

aptX Adaptive — A 24-Bit Wireless Platform

Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive gives the Px7 S2 a 24-bit-capable wireless platform, with support for aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC alongside the full suite of Bluetooth profiles. In practice, this means the wireless connection does not become the weak link in the chain — the signal arriving at the drive units is as complete as the source can provide.

Practical Engineering

Battery life reaches up to 30 hours of continuous wireless streaming with noise cancellation active. A 15-minute quick charge via USB-C returns up to seven hours of playback. USB-C also functions as a wired audio interface, and a 1.2 m USB-C to 3.5 mm cable is included for use with sources that do not speak Bluetooth. A wear-detection sensor pauses playback automatically when the headphones are removed, and resumes when they are replaced. The Px7 S2 is available in Anthracite Black and Cloud Grey.
