The AVID Volvere is one of the most accomplished turntables at its price point in British analogue engineering — a design conceived around AVID's signature suspended subchassis architecture, delivering the isolation from external vibration and acoustic feedback that is the foundation of serious vinyl replay. This example, dating from 2018, was traded in by a long-standing customer and has been well cared for throughout its life. In 2021 it was serviced by us here at Martins Hi-Fi, at which point its Pro-Ject 9cc tonearm was upgraded to the Gold Note B-7 Ceramic — Gold Note's flagship tonearm, fitted with the Gold Note B-7 Ceramic phono cable Plus — and a set of new belts was fitted. It is presented in excellent condition and comes with its original packaging.

AVID Suspended Subchassis Engineering

The Volvere is built around AVID's acclaimed suspended subchassis design — a three-point spring suspension system that isolates the platter, tonearm, and cartridge from the motor unit and external environment with extraordinary thoroughness. Where unsuspended turntable designs rely on mass loading or material damping to manage vibration, the Volvere's suspension addresses the problem at source — mechanically decoupling the playing surface from every source of interference that could corrupt the signal retrieved from the groove. The result is a noise floor of exceptional quietness, a soundstage of remarkable depth and stability, and a musical presentation of effortless composure that lesser turntables cannot approach.

Gold Note B-7 Ceramic Tonearm with Phono Cable Plus

The tonearm fitted to this example is the Gold Note B-7 Ceramic — Gold Note's flagship handmade tonearm, built in Florence with high-precision ceramic ball-bearings manufactured exclusively for Gold Note by GRW in Germany. It is one of the finest tonearms available at any price, and its presence here represents a significant upgrade over the Pro-Ject 9cc it replaces — bringing noiseless, frictionless bearing movement, a low-resonance ceramic and titanium arm tube, and an interface between cartridge and phono stage of world-class precision. The Gold Note B-7 Ceramic phono cable Plus completes the signal path with a cable of matching quality, ensuring that the signal retrieved from the groove arrives at the phono stage with complete integrity.

Condition and Provenance

This Volvere has been owned by a single careful owner, traded into us directly, and serviced by our own engineers in 2021. It comes with its original packaging — a considerable practical advantage for safe transport. Collection from our Norwich showroom is strongly preferred, as the Volvere's suspended subchassis requires careful handling during transit; shipping is possible using the original packaging, but would require a full strip-down of the deck for safe transportation, with set-up and alignment carried out on arrival. We have a fully equipped workshop and can assist with installation, cartridge fitting, alignment, and set-up — just ask.
