Brand new for 2019 the QXR DAC version of the 8 2 DAC integrated amplifier.
The QXR card upgrade is the most significant improvement to Cyrus amplifiers in recent years. Bringing a world of the highest-resolution digital inputs to products up to a decade old.
QXR works with numerous Cyrus products, not only improving the sonic performance through the addition of a 32bit/768k DAC and all-new asynchronous USB bridge but also substantially improving the performance of the headphone amplifier section of these integrated and pre-amplifiers.
The new QXR card is capable of processing PCM audio to 768k at a 32bit depth and ‘Native’ DSD 512, through the USB input. The high-specification ESS DAC uses asynchronous upsampling to deliver a sublime audio signal regardless of source. Even via the lower resolution digital S/PDIF and Toslink interfaces, incoming signals are ‘reclocked’ to substantially reduce noisy ‘jitter’ and deliver a refined, cleaner audio signal to the pre-amplifier stages of the upgraded product.
The improved headphone amplifier, included within the upgrade, reduces the noise floor, providing a much improved dynamic range. Capable of outputting 138mW per channel into 16ohm loads, it can comfortably drive headphones with impedances of up to 64ohm.
Compatible File Formats and Resolutions: PCM audio to 768k at a 32bit depth and DSD native 512.
The 82 DAC is Cyrus’s highest performing integrated amplifier. With a complete set of digital and analogue inputs, you can connect virtually any source and output directly to your speakers. The powerful amplifier has an instantly impressive ‘grip’ on even large loudspeakers. Through carefully tuned components and our unique circuit layout, the 82 DAC provides a clear ‘window’ on recordings, revealing layers of detail and complexity in the music that lesser amplifiers simply can’t achieve.
Six analogue inputs, a high quality headphone amplifier, Zone 2 and pre amplifier outputs give the 82 DAC flexibility for connecting a wide variety of audio devices. There is also a PSX R2 port on the 82 DAC allowing connectivity of the instant upgrade off-board power supply.
The 82 DAC and its sibling the 6 DAC are conceived to be the hubs to your entire audio system. The aim was usability, simplicity and refinement. Supplied with the full iR14 remote control unit, it’s possible to connect almost every analogue and digital source through this highly competent unit.
The bi-wire output of the 82 DAC gives a full 88 Watts into 6 ohms – enough to drive even the most demanding loudspeaker loads. To ensure the highest standards of quality, the power supply is a high current design that uses two transformers to completely separate the digital control stages from the sensitive audio signals – an approach usually reserved for pre/power combination amplifiers.
The 82 DAC features a high performance 24/192 DAC with optical and coaxial inputs and a driver less USB connection for plug and play connectivity to a PC or laptop. Upgrade to ‘Qx’ specification for the 32bit upsampling DAC design used in the DAC XP Signature.
