dCS Vivaldi owners once again have the option of adding a dedicated CD/SACD Transport to their system, with the release of their new Mark II design.
dCS strives to create flexible audio systems that support a multitude of use cases and provide an outstanding musical experience for all listeners – whatever their preferences and tastes.
This includes doing all they can to support various forms of digital playback – from streaming to spinning discs. Whilst digital streaming is now ubiquitous, we know there are many audiophiles who prefer listening to Super Audio CDs in their native DSD format (a format that is not currently available through any streaming service). We also know there are many listeners who have amassed collections of rare CD recordings, which are not presently accessible on streaming platforms.
dCS believe these listeners should be able to continue revisiting their desired recordings, and listening in their preferred playback format, for many years to come. When developing the Vivaldi and Rossini ranges, dCS went to great lengths to engineer dedicated Transports that could extract astonishing levels of detail from silver discs, and ensure listeners experienced the best possible sound from their CDs and Super Audio CDs.
The original Vivaldi Transport was designed using a TEAS Esoteric Neo Mechanism – an excellent component selected for its rigid construction and near-silent operation. Unfortunately, this component is no longer available. This means they have been unable to produce the Vivaldi Transport in its original form. After extensive consideration, dCS have developed what we feel is an excellent solution: a Mark II Transport that combines the visual stylings of the Vivaldi series with proven and tested dCS hardware.
The Vivaldi Transport Mark II features the same distinctive sculpted wave finish seen throughout the Vivaldi range. As with all Vivaldi components, it is encased in aerospace-grade aluminium, and is available in an anodised silver or matt black finish. It benefits from the latest dCS software and is compatible with all devices in the Vivaldi range. Inside, it features a dual laser mechanism, and hardware developed following the launch of the dCS Vivaldi – meaning it benefits both from breakthroughs made as part of the Vivaldi’s development and advancements made since.
With the launch of the Mark II, dCS are once again able to offer Vivaldi customers the option of adding a dedicated CD/SACD Transport to their system. The Mark II has been meticulously engineered and exhaustively tested to ensure it delivers an exceptional performance, and provides the same levels of quality, longevity, and reliability as the rest of the dCS Vivaldi range.
